Everyone has a person he or she admires. It can be a member of the family, a celebrity, a famous writer or an actor. There can be different reasons why we admire this or that person. We can admire their will power, some traits of character or style. We can have the same preferences in the outlook on life. Actually, there are many such reasons and they can vary.

The person I really admire is Hayao Miyazaki. He is a Japanese film director and animator. Actually, he is a very famous person all over the world. People of all ages like his animation works. Some of them can be a bit difficult for understanding but the more you watch them and the more you know some facts about Hayao Miyazaki, the clearer they become for understanding.

My mother is a person whom I really admire. She is very important for me. She supports me every time I need. She is my best friend. If I have a problem I always tell her about it. There are not so many people I can admire. There are many friends, classmates, neighbors and relatives I can be thankful to. But there are only few people I would like to look like and admire.
My grandparents did many good and important things for our family. There are many things I can be thankful for, but I admire a lot to know them to be part of this family.
Many years ago during the Second World War my great grandad saved the whole village. He was a young boy and liked to walk around a lot. He lived in one village so he knew every corner there. When the war started my great grandad took about 30 people to the forest. There were about 15 children. They could die during the war, but Peter (my great grandad) brought for them some food and helped them to get to their relatives to the closest villages.
This story became very interesting for me. My granny told me this story many times and I always listened to it. He is a real hero for me. I really admire him.
Unfortunately he didn’t become an officer or one hero for the whole city. But he is and will always be a hero for all our family.
It’s not easy to find somebody you can admire. People today write beautiful songs, books, invent new machines, go to the moon. I am proud of russian people who achieved all the goals. But I don’t know anybody who sacrifices himself to save other people. And what is more he had never got a chance to become a famous hero.
Every person, many of my friends admire somebody. But for different reasons all their stories didn’t impress me. For me there is only one person I am proud of and can admire. It’s my family member, my great grandad and I will tell the story to my children and grandchildren.

Pushkin and Our Time
It would be a platitude to say that A. S. Pushkin is the greatest Russian poet. But I hope no one is challenging the view that he occupies an outstanding place in Russian literature and culture.
Every summer in June, thousands of people visit the Pskov land. They come here to the village of Mikhailovskoye to the wonderful festival of poetry, to see the places where he lived and worked.
Pushkin is always alive for us, he is the man we all know and love, the greatest of poets. Generations come and go, but Pushkin still remains. We are all grateful to Pushkin for each line of his works. Pushkin is not only a great poet for us. He is the perfect man combining brilliant talent with civil courage. His name is associated with our love for the Motherland, and the best in our life.
Hundreds of new concepts, hundreds of new words have appeared in the language in the years that have passed since his death, but not a single word of his poetry has become obsolete. Everything written by Pushkin continues to live. It has not become something of the past, it does not need any corrections and hardly needs commentary. His feelings and his views still correspond to our own feelings and views.
We admire the great world of Pushkin’s poetry as a whole, each of us finding some special lines for ourselves, lines showing his sympathy and respect for his people. The reader cannot imagine his inner world without him.

When I think of someone special, who I could look up to, my grandfather comes to my mind. There are, of course, many prominent people, that are worth admiring. Many teenagers are fans of some rock singers, famous actors, but for me the hero is my granddad. He is rather old now, almost 80. Nevertheless, he looks and acts as an up-to-date person. He is neither tall nor short, more of a medium height, but he is well-built. He always speaks to the point and tries to stay informed of all the current events in the world. He went through the Second World War and had several injuries. He survived the times of real famine and poverty. Growing up in a family of 15 children, he had to share one coat and one pair of shoes with his siblings. The same can be said about food. He had to share his only piece of bread or candy with a great number of starving brothers and sisters. However, they survived and they learned to appreciate every little thing in this world. By the way, my grandfather’s name is Vladimir. He is my mum’s father. He has always been good to me and my younger sister, though we are not his only grandchildren. When we were little, he would take us to the ice-cream booth at the central park and buy as much ice-cream as we wanted. He would also take us to the merry-go-round. All his life he worked at the factory, where he created vehicle parts. Although he has retired long ago, he still does some minor jobs to keep busy. Whenever any of his relatives needs help, he is always there for them. He is a great husband, a wonderful father and the best grandfather in the world.
People Admired
Everyone has role models while growing up and most people’s role models continue to play an inspirational part in their lives until they die. There have been so many people in my life that have helped to mold my character. It is amazing the wide variety of people I admire in my life. My admired are comprised of many influential beings. Narrowing down the list of admired people in my life to ten was a very strenuous activity. Though the list is varied all ten of these people have one similarity which is that they continue to encourage me to better my lifestyle.
Inside the group of ten people I hold in highest regard there are three women. The important women in my life almost all play the same role. The three women all happen to be members of my family. Sense they are all members of my family they were responsible for instilling values into me and setting a positive example for me. All of them have had success in their work fields and have so far had a very successful life. Of course the fact that these three people are women means that they tend to be more concerned with my feelings and emotions. My mom, grandmother, and my sister are always the people I run to when I am struggling in life and need moral support.
Being that I am a typical male the majority of my list of most respected people happen to be male. All of the males in my group are over the age thirty. The bulk of the males in my list are classified as middle aged men. Two of the men In my list are considered to be senior citizens. The males that are encompassed in my list are what gives my list its variety.
Three of the individuals in my list are considered to be celebrities whom I do not personally know. It is only through the media and hobby that our paths have crossed. Two of the stars happen to be athletes. My soccer coach also happens to be one of the people I admire the most.

I think that every person admires someone. In fact, it is useful to look up to someone with good qualities or worthy deeds. Most young people find idols in cinema or music sphere, but my hero is a public figure, who has changed to better lives of many people in his country. It’s Nelson Mandela. He was a South African anti-apartheid politician and philanthropist. Before the abrogation of apartheid South Africa was a horrible to live. The country was characterized by conflict, unspeakable suffering and inconceivable injustice. Society was in deep crisis and discrimination ruled everywhere.
People, who didn’t have white color of skin, were underprivileged in any sphere of life, including education, medicine, political voice and any other human rights. Apartheid was disassembled in 1994 with the first democratic president elections, when Nelson Mandela won the campaign. He was the President of South Africa for five years, during which his government constantly fought racism, poverty and inequality. He was also the President of the African National Congress for eight years. I admire this man’s courage and yearning for justice. I know that he spent 27 years of his life in prison. However, he didn’t get dispirited, he didn’t lose faith in himself and his ideas. On the contrary, he rose through his work and he never wavered in his devotion to equality. He went through terrible provocations, but never answered racism with racism.
Everybody in his country knew that this peaceful transition from inhumane conditions to egalitarian society was Nelson Mandela’s achievement. Soon he became a role model for the whole country and a favorite leader of all times. Even today after his death in 2013, he is well-remembered and respected.

Одним из таких является Юрий Алексеевич Гагарин. Человек с «большой» фамилией. Простой парень с космической решимостью. Человек, чье значение навсегда будет увековечено в памяти. Гагарин осмелился сделать шаг в космическое пространство, покрытое мраком и интересом одновременно. Человек не испугавшийся взглянуть в глаза неизвестности, туда, где не ступала нога человека.
Мужество человека определяется смелыми действиями, приводящими либо к приобретению, либо к утрате. Именно эта черта характера восхищает других людей. Страх у лидеров прячется глубоко внутрь, когда появляется шанс изменить историю. Мысли о неудачи невозможно перешагнуть, но их можно затмить желанием изменить настоящее. Не важно где ты родился и какого цвета твоя кожа, сколько тебе лет и какая у тебя профессия. Важно, что человек определяется лишь поступками, которые сам осмелился совершить.
Человек, совершающий прорыв, несет ответственность не только за себя, но и за тех людей, которые стоят за ним. Благодаря «первым» людям начинаешь гордиться страной, в которой живешь. Появляется неопределимое желание к новым, никому не изведанным свершениям. Гагарин ассоциируется теперь не только с космосом, но и с любым начинанием. Если ты первый, то ты Гагарин. Понимаешь, что во многих школах и на разных языках будут восхищаться его стойким характером и светлой улыбкой. Передавать историю из поколения в поколения, как обычный человек решил сразиться с неизвестностью для осознания своего предназначения на этой Земле. Его фразы стали крылатыми: простые слова, которые сквозь призму эпохи приближают нас к уникальному человеку. И каждый уважающий себя житель планеты чувствует себя частью чего-то великого, кусочком необъятной Земли, одним сердцем, единым народом. When we were little, he would take us to the ice-cream booth at the central park and buy as much ice-cream as we wanted. He would also take us to the merry-go-round. All his life he worked at the factory, where he created vehicle parts. Although he has retired long ago, he still does some minor jobs to keep busy. Whenever any of his relatives needs help, he is always there for them. He is a great husband, a wonderful father and the best grandfather in the world.

Выросший в семье с 15-ю другими детьми, он должен был делить одно пальто и одну пару обуви с братьями и сестрами. То же самое можно сказать и о еде. Он должен был делить свой единственный кусок хлеба или конфету с большим количеством голодающих братьев и сестер. Тем не менее, они выжили и научились ценить каждую мелочь в этом мире. Кстати, зовут моего деда Владимир. Он отец моей мамы. Он всегда был добр ко мне и моей младшей сестренке, хотя мы не единственные его внуки. Когда мы были маленькими, он водил нас к будке с мороженым в центральном парке и покупал нам столько мороженого, сколько мы хотели Он также водил нас на карусели. Всю свою жизнь он проработал на заводе, где создавал детали для транспортных средств. Хотя он уже давно на пенсии, он по-прежнему делает кое-какую работу, чтобы не скучать. I think everybody has an idol, a person you admire. I have an idol, too.
His name is Alexander Kalyagin. He is the Honoured Russian actor and film director. He was born not far from my native town of Vyatskie Polyany. Alexander Kalyagin starred in many films, but my favourite film where he played the main role is “Hello, I am your aunt!” His voice is known to any child in our country because he voiced the cat Leopold in the famous Russian animated cartoon “The Adventures of Leopold the Cat”.
What can I say about his appearance? I think it’s unusual. He is rather stout and bold. He has abig open forehead and so kind eyes that people like him at first sight! Now Alexamder Kalyagin is an artistic director of the “EtCetera” Theatre in Moscow. Also he is the chairman of the Theatre Union of Russia.
There is a Theatre School for children in our town. I have been attending it for three years. I am proud that this school was named after Alexander Kalyagin. At our Theatre School we stage different performances and just enjoy communicating with each other. Alexander Kalyagin comes to our school and helps in its development. I admire him, because he is not only a talented actor and director but he is just a kind and sincere man. And we all love and respect him.

Это Александр Калягин – актёр и режиссёр. Он заслуженный артист Российской Федерации. Родился неподалёку от моего родного города Вятские Поляны. Александр Калягин сыграл во многих фильмах, но мой самый любимый фильм с его участием – «Здравствуйте, я ваша тётя». Его голос знаком каждому ребёнку нашей страны, ведь Калягин озвучил «Кота Леопольда».
Что я могу сказать о его внешности? Она необычна. Этот человек немного полноват и лысоват. У него большой открытый лоб и такие добрые глаза, что людям он может понравиться с первого взгляда. Сейчас Александр Калягин является художественным руководителем современного театра «EtCetera» в Москве. Также он является председателем Союза театральных деятелей в России.
В нашем городе есть театральная школа для детей, которую я посещаю вот уже 3 года. Я горжусь тем, что эта школа носит имя Александра Калягина. В нашей театральной школе мы ставим разные спектакли и просто наслаждаемся общением друг с другом. Александр Калягин приезжает в нашу школу и помогает в её развитии. Я восхищаюсь им, потому что он не только талантливый актер и режиссер, но и просто очень добрый и искренний человек. И мы все его очень любим и уважаем!

Pushkin and Our Time
It would be a platitude to say that A. S. Pushkin is the greatest Russian poet. But I hope no one is challenging the view that he occupies an outstanding place in Russian literature and culture.
Every summer in June, thousands of people visit the Pskov land. They come here to the village of Mikhailovskoye to the wonderful festival of poetry, to see the places where he lived and worked.
Pushkin is always alive for us, he is the man we all know and love, the greatest of poets. Generations come and go, but Pushkin still remains. We are all grateful to Pushkin for each line of his works. Pushkin is not only a great poet for us. He is the perfect man combining brilliant talent with civil courage. His name is associated with our love for the Motherland, and the best in our life.
Hundreds of new concepts, hundreds of new words have appeared in the language in the years that have passed since his death, but not a single word of his poetry has become obsolete. Everything written by Pushkin continues to live. It has not become something of the past, it does not need any corrections and hardly needs commentary. His feelings and his views still correspond to our own feelings and views.
We admire the great world of Pushkins poetry as a whole, each of us finding some special lines for ourselves, lines showing his sympathy and respect for his people. The reader cannot imagine his inner world without him.
Она не обладает ни суперсилой, ни волшебством, у неё нет медалей и кубков или же всемирной известности. Зато у моей мамы в огромном избытке доброты, чувства справедливости, заботы, понимания и сострадания. И я сейчас перечисляю её положительные качества не только по отношению ко мне, но и по отношению ко всем окружающим её людям. Я не говорю, что она всегда добра или нежна, но она прекрасно чувствует смысл той или иной ситуации, и именно благодаря этому чутью эмоционально подстраивается к тому или иному человеку, чтобы помочь, дать совет. А если рассматривать меня, то мама всегда чувствует, когда мне нужна поддержка, а когда мне надо пригрозить пальцем и чётко указать на мои ошибки.
Любой другой слабый человек на её месте давно бы сорвался с цепи и вымещал злобу на других людей с тем прошлым, которое осталось за плечами моей матери. Но моя мама не из числа робких. Некоторых людей проблемы, страхи и беды ломают физически и духовно, но моя мама, пережив множество отрицательных эпизодов в своей жизни, стала только сильнее.
Я не хочу и не буду подробно рассказывать, что именно пережила моя мама, пожалуй, просто перечислю самый неприятный моменты… Детство: этот период её жизни испортил отец, который ушёл из семьи из-за своей «любви» к выпивке.
Сама моя мама не городская, поэтому переезд из посёлка в Новосибирск был тоже не из лёгких. Потом она вышла замуж за моего отца. Казалось бы, что вот оно, счастье, обрести, наконец, семью и жить полноценной жизнью, но судьба распорядилась по-другому. Семейная жизнь тоже не задалась. Совсем недавно мои родители развелись, и теперь забота обо мне целиком легла на её плечи.
Самый тяжёлым моментом был, когда из жизни ушёл главный человек в маминой жизни. Моя бабушка была именно тем человек, который держал на плаву мою мать, тем человек, который вселял надежду в неё, как сейчас мама вселяет в меня. Представьте, что будет, если с горизонта кораблей исчез маяк? Правильно, они просто разобьются о скалы. Тем самым кораблём оказалась и моя мама, вот только мама по кусочкам смогла собрать себя и жить дальше.
За последний год произошли огромные перемены к лучшему. Мама сильнее утвердилась как личность, начала куда больше верить в себя и в своё светлое будущее. Я осмелюсь сказать, что в прошлом она в какой-то степени зависела от тех или иных людей, но сейчас она стала истинно независимой женщиной, которая умело распоряжается своей жизнью.
Меня восхищает сила её духа. Мама каждый день буквально заряжает меня позитивной энергией. У неё не пропадает время зря. Она строит большие планы на будущее.
Но больше всего я ей благодарна за своё воспитание, за те знания, которые она мне даёт буквально каждую минуту. У моей мамы чётко выстроена жизненная позиция, она легко может выразить и доказать свою точку зрения по любому вопросу. Не удивительно, что я беру для себя за основу именно позицию моей мамы, а иногда я целиком и полностью следую ей. Но мама всегда повторяет мне слова: «Это твоя жизнь. Не мне решать, что тебе с ней делать. Учись ею распоряжаться».
Моя мама для меня опора, самый лучший друг, кладезь знаний, воплощение некого идеала, которому я немного да соответствую. Я не буду следовать по стопам своей матери, никогда, потому что она сама мне говорит о том, что я должна творить свою судьбу сама и не должна кому-то соответствовать. Но для меня будет честью, если я в будущем буду такой же хорошей матерью, как и она.
